Where Design Research Meets the Future

Converge 2026 — the International Conference on Design for Future (Converge) — is a landmark gathering of the global design research community, hosted at the IDC School of Design, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, in partnership with the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.

Over three immersive days, participants engage in peer-reviewed paper presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and research consortium sessions designed to advance design knowledge across disciplines.

Published through Springer or the Design Research Society (DRS), Converge proceedings will reach a global audience of designers, researchers, and educators.

In 2026, with mounting global challenges — from climate transition to the rise of intelligent systems — this conference asks designers and researchers not just to respond, but to lead. Through rigorous scholarship and creative practice, Converge 2026 explores design as a force for positive, lasting transformation.
